DURHAM, N.C. – No. 11 Florida State scored in only three innings, but used a pair of two-run home runs Thursday afternoon to take down No. 25 Georgia Tech 6-1 in Game 7 at the ACC Baseball Championship.

QUOTEBOARD
“We couldn’t get a hit when we kind of need it to get back in the game, and then Busby, again, hit a two-run homer and that kind of took us right out of it. So credit Florida State. Felt like Sands did a good job of keeping us off balance and then boils came in and did a nice job. Haney is hard to hit because he’s a side-armer.

“A little disappointed in what our offense has done the last two days. Got to feel like we pitched okay to where we could at least be in the games but just haven’t hit enough to stay competitive.” – Georgia Tech head coach Danny Hall’s post-game comments

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Florida State got to starter Zac Ryan early in the 1st. With two on and one out, Cal Raleigh put the Seminoles on the board with an RBI single through the right side. Two batters later, Jackson Lueck scored on a double steal attempt to give the Seminoles a 2-0 advantage.
• Georgia Tech scratched a run in the bottom of the 1st. With two on and one out, Kel Johnson hit a deep fly ball to right, allowing Connor Justus to tag up and score.
• FSU doubled its scoring in the 3rd on John Sansone’s 2-run home run over the blue monster in left for a 4-1 Seminoles lead.
• Tech reliever Keyton Gibson kept the Seminoles off the scoreboard until the 7th when Dylan Busby delivered another 2-run homer over the left field wall for a 6-1 advantage.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Senior OF Matt Gonzalez, the NCAA’s active career leader in hits, increased his career total to 292 hits. He needs eight more to become only the third player in Tech history with 300 or more career hits.
• Junior C Arden Pabst threw out two baserunners attempting to steal 2nd base, increasing his total to 51 career baserunners thrown out.
• Junior P Zac Ryan (3-3) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on six hits with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings.
