Lindsey Laband Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

Georgia Tech’s Lindsey Laband was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets to victories over Clemson and Virginia Tech.

The junior setter posted a career-high 70 assists in the Jackets’ 3-1 win over Clemson. In addition, she tallied five kills, four digs and three blocks in the match.

Later in the week, the Monument, Colo., native dished out 52 assists versus Virginia Tech. She also recorded eight digs, two kills and two blocks in the 3-0 victory.

Laband helped the Jackets hit .346 as a team during the week, including a season-high of .360 against the Tigers. She is ranked third in the nation in assists per game (14.77) and runs an offense which is ranked in the top five in kills per game and assists per game is in the top tweny in hitting percentage.

This marks the first time in her career that Laband has won this award.
