EUGENE, Ore. – Making his first ever NCAA Outdoor Championship appearance, Georgia Tech track and field sophomore Brandon Lasater competed in the 800 meters Wednesday night at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon’s campus.
Lasater placed 22nd in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.27. He qualified for the event with a top-three finish in his heat in the preliminaries, followed by a 10th-place finish in the semifinals with a time of 1:48.49 at the NCAA East Preliminaries.
The top eight finishers move on to the 800-meter final set for Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Jackets continue action Friday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as Julienne McKee and Jhanelle McLeod compete in the women’s triple jump at 6:25 p.m. ET. Jonathan Gardner wraps up the Jackets’ time in Eugene with the men’s triple jump Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
