Oct. 18, 2010

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sophomore Elizabeth Kilborn led the Georgia Tech Women’s Tennis team with singles victory Sunday at the Seminoles Quad Tournament.

Kilborn finished off the tournament with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Auburn’s Emily Newton. Over the weekend, Kilborn finished with a 2-1 singles mark. In doubles, Kilborn teamed with junior Lynn Blau to claim third place in the doubles gold bracket behind an 8-6 win over the Tigers’ Newton and Caroline Thornton.

Blau, who played in the singles gold bracket, came up just short of a third-place finish after falling in three sets to Janette Bejlkova of South Florida.

The Yellow Jackets will continue the fall next weekend at the ITA Region Championships in Athens, Ga.
