Jordan Sets Career Mark at NCAA Track & Field Indoor Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – – Junior Alphonso Jordan posted an eighth-place mark in the triple jump Saturday at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas.

Jordan, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., landed a career-best mark of 52’9.25″ on his second attempt to lock up the eighth-best distance in the meet. Jordan improves on his 2008 finish of 10th place by 1’2″. Even more impressive, Jordan set his new career mark by almost three-inches.

The Yellow Jackets will begin the 2009 outdoor season next weekend, March 20-21, at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla.
