Jordan Impressive on Day One of Rod McCravy Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Alphonso Jordan posted a NCAA Provisional mark in the triple jump to lead the Georgia Tech Track & Field team in day one of the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational on the campus of the University of Kentucky on Friday night.

The Charlotte, N.C. native posted a mark of 52′ 1¼” in the finals of the event to finish second overall. The leap was the best for Jordan in the triple jump on the 2009-10 indoor season.

Other competitors in action for the Jackets on the night participated in the women’s portion of the triple jump, as Jhanelle McLeod finished fourth in the finals with a mark of 39′ 6½” and Mellany Stanislaus placed sixth with a 38′ 11″ mark.

Action at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational concludes tomorrow, with field events beginning at 9:30 a.m. and running events starting at 12:30 p.m.
