Jones, Ardossi Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Football A-back Roddy Jones and women’s basketball forward Brigitte Ardossi have been named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.

Jones, a redshirt freshman from Stone Mountain, Ga., rushed for a career-high 214 yards on 13 carries while scoring two touchdowns in a 45-42 win over No. 13 Georgia. He averaged a school-record 16.5 yards per carry, while scoring on runs of eight and 62 yards. Jones also tacked on 98 return yards for a total of 312 all-purpose yards.

Ardossi was named to the FAU Thanksgiving Classic All- Tournament team after averaging 11.0 points and 3.5 rebounds over the weekend. She scored a career-high 18 points in a 68-56 win over Tennessee Tech in the consolation game at the classic. The junior from Melbourne, Australia, is averaging 8.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game on the year.
