Jesudason Signs With Women’s Tennis

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis inked top recruit Meera Jesudason, Byers Women’s Tennis Head Coach Rodney Harmon announced on Thursday.

“Meera has played at a high level and has a strong desire to continue to grow her game,” commented Harmon. “We look forward to welcoming her to Georgia Tech and helping her expand her game, as well as being a great teammate and student.”

A native of Berwyn, Pa., she is rated a blue chip recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network and has been ranked as high as No. 12 in the class of 2023. A strong competitor on the junior circuit, Jesudason has reached the top five in USTA 18’s national rankings and is ranked the No. 3 recruit from Pennsylvania.

Earlier this year, Jesudason recorded a strong tournament at the J2 Woodbridge in Ontario. After collecting a three-set win in the first round, Jesudason breezed through second round action to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

In 2021, Jesudason was a National Hard Court quarterfinalist in San Diego, topping the four-seed and 10th-ranked ITF Junior in the round of 32. At the J4 Coral Gables tournament in May 2021, the future Yellow Jacket cruised through qualifying to reach the main draw. She reached the quarterfinals of the clay tournament.

Hailing from a tennis family, her brother, Alan, plays collegiate tennis at Drexel University.

Competitive Drive Initiative
In a unified endeavor, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have come together to accelerate funding for student-athlete scholarships with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative kicks off with the Accelerate GT Match Program, where any new gift to the A-T Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, up to $2.5 million. Should Accelerate GT reach its $2.5 million fundraising goal, the matching gift would result in a $5 million impact for Georgia Tech athletics.
