THE FLATS — Georgia Tech men’s tennis will once again face Boston College on Wednesday, April 25 for the second time in four days at the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C. The match is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets swept the Eagles on Sunday, April 22 in a 4-0 match. No. 17 doubles team Carlos Divar and Michael Kay, alongside Phillip Gresk and Andrew Li captured the doubles point before Divar and Li took straight-set victories in singles. Gresk battled to a tough three-set victory at the No. 3 spot to clinch the match for Tech.
Boston College split its last four regular-season contests, falling to No. 1 Wake Forest and Georgia Tech and defeating Miami as well as nonconference foe Holy Cross.
The winner of Wednesday’s showdown will play fifth-seeded Virginia Tech on Thursday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. The Jackets led VT 3-0 before suffering a heartbreaking setback, 4-3 to the Hokies earlier this season.
The final two days of the ACC Tennis Championships (April 28-29) will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, with coverage set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Shawn Kenney and former Duke tennis standout and ESPN anchor Prim Siripipat will handle analysis with sideline Melanie Newman on the sidelines.
