ATLANTA – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has ranked Georgia Tech 13th in its preseason poll, and the Yellow Jackets are one of four Atlantic Coast Conference schools to appear in the organization’s top-15, as announced this week.
The Yellow Jackets return eight starters in the field and six of their top 10 pitchers from last year’s team that went 41-21 and advanced to the finals of the NCAA Athens Regional.
North Carolina leads all schools with the NCBWA’s top preseason ranking, and Florida State joins the Tar Heels in the top 10, appearing at No. 6. Miami stands one spot ahead of the Yellow Jackets at No. 12, the same ranking Georgia Tech received in the preseason Collegiate Baseball poll that was released last month.
Clemson, at No. 26, is one spot out of the top-25, while NC State and Virginia are also receiving votes.
