Jackets Meet on College Night at Atlanta Open

ATLANTA, Ga. – College Night at the 2023 Atlanta Open is set to be a Georgia Tech feature as current Yellow Jacket Andres Martin will face former star Christopher Eubanks in the matchup. First serve on Tuesday night is slated for 7 p.m.

This will be the third appearance for Martin in the ATP 250 professional event as the Jacket also received the wild card for College Night last year. The Flowery Branch, Ga., native earned his first pro main draw win, defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-2. In 2021, Martin and teammate Keshav Chopra earned a doubles wild card into the tournament.

Eubanks comes into his hometown tournament off a quarterfinal run at Wimbledon earlier this month. Currently ranked No. 32 in the world, Eubanks is the No. 5 seed in this year’s Atlanta Open. No stranger himself to College Night, Eubanks participated in the event multiple times while a student-athlete.

Martin will be treated to a mini parade to the courts prior to first serve. In keeping with the Georgia Tech theme, first-year head men’s basketball coach Damon Stoudamire will perform the ceremonial coin toss at center court to kick-off the night.

Martin will make his debut at the Atlanta Open on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in doubles with assistant coach Kevin King. The doubles team earned a wild card into the doubles field and will face Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni.

Tickets for the 2023 Atlanta Open, played at Atlantic Station, are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting the tournament’s website.
