Jackets Ink Cruz on National Signing Day

THE FLATS – On national signing day, Georgia Tech women’s tennis inked top recruit Alejandra Cruz from Mexico, head coach Rodney Harmon announced.

Bringing a wealth of international experience, Cruz represented Mexico on the 2020 Fed Cup Team and has captured several international tournament titles including a J2 singles and doubles tournament in Guadalajara this past August. She also took home a singles championship title at a G5 Nicaragua event.

A native of Mexico City, Cruz has climbed as high as No. 69 in the ITF Worldwide Junior Rankings and is a 10UTR. She participated in the 2021 US Open Juniors qualifying draw and is the No. 2 U18 recruit in Mexico.

“We are so excited to have Alejandra be a part of the women’s tennis program at Georgia Tech,” commented Harmon. “She has a ton of international experience that will benefit the entire program. Alejandra is very talented on court and an excellent student who plans to major in industrial design.”
