On its second full day in San Francisco, the Georgia Tech football team held its first practice Monda morning in preparation for Thursday’s Emerald Bowl.

Tech, ranked 24th with a record of 7-4, takes on Utah (6-5) Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET at SBC Park in San Francisco in the fourth annual Emerald Bowl.

The Jackets are practicing at San Francisco City College, a local community college that is a football powerhouse in the California junior college system. Its most famous alum is O.J. Simpson.

After practice, the team was off to tour Alcatraz, the famous island prison in the San Francisco Bay. Following the boat ride and tour, many players took the opportunity to spend a free evening at Fisherman’s Wharf.
