Jackets Fall to Eagles, 4-0

BRIGHTON, Mass. โ€“ย Georgia Tech softball (27-12, 8-10 ACC) dropped its series finale against Boston College (16-19, 3-12 ACC), 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at Harrington Athletics Village.

Freshman slinger Sophia Voyles got the start in the circle, allowing no hits through 2 1/3 innings while adding three punchouts. The Dalton, Ga., native received credit for a pair of runs as senior hurler Lexi Ray completed the next 2/3 of an inning, surrendering one more run of her own. Junior right hander Blake Neleman finished the contest, tossing three innings and adding three strikeouts, giving up one run on two hits.

Junior catcher Emma Kauf picked up Techโ€™s lone hit of the day, her 15th double of the season to bolster her ACC-leading total.

Boston College took the lead in bottom of the third, loading the bases before blooping a ball into no manโ€™s land in right that turned into a three-RBI triple. The Eagles added one more run in the sixth with a solo shot that would prove to be the final score as Boston College came out on top, 4-0.
