Jackets Collect Multiple Wins on Day Two of Commodore Invite

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis picked up four singles and two doubles victories on the second day of competition at Vanderbilt University’s Commodore Invite.

Andres Martin and Rohan Sachdev continued their winning streak by defeating UT Austin’s Nevin Arimilli and Evin McDonald, 6-4, in the doubles red draw semifinals. In the flight ‘B’ east quarterfinals, Martin took down Vanderbilt’s Siim Troost with a 6-1, 6-2 finish.

In consolation play, Marcus McDaniel earned a win in both singles and doubles play. McDaniel claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory versus South Carolina’s Jake Beasley. Elias Shokry joined McDaniel in the doubles green draw semifinals and the duo triumphed over Mississippi in a 6-2 win. Sachdev defeated both Vanderbilt’s Connor Robb Wilcox (6-4, 6-2) and UT Austin’s Eshan Talluri (6-2, 6-4) to claim his spot in the flight ‘C’ west finals.

Red Draw – East Semifinals: Martin/Sachdev (GT) def. Arimilli/McDonald (UT Austin), 6-4

Flight A – West Quarterfinals: Marcus McDaniel (GT) def. Jake Beasley (South Carolina); 6-2, 6-4

Flight A – West Semifinals: Justin Schlageter (Oklahoma) def. Marcus McDaniel (GT); 3-6, 7-5, 6-3

Flight C – West Quarterfinals: Rohan Sachdev (GT) def. Siim Troost (Vanderbilt); 6-2, 6-4

Flight C – West Semifinals: Rohan Sachdev (GT) def. Eshan Talluri (UT Austin); 6-1, 6-2

Flight C – West Quarterfinals: Paul Wang (Vanderbilt) def. Elias Shokry (GT); 4-6, 6 [10]-2 [7]

Green Draw – West Semifinals: McDaniel/Shokry (GT) def. Stearns/Whitwell (Mississippi), 6-2
