Hull Earns Georgia Tech Total Person Award

ATLANTA – Senior Kristina Hull received the Georgia Tech Athletic Association’s highest honor, the Total Person Award, along with All-American golfer Roberto Castro, announced at the annual Yellow Jacket Celebration, held Monday evening.

The Total Person Awards are presented annually to the male and female senior student-athletes who best exemplify excellence in academics, athletics, leadership and service.

Hull, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., is having her finest season as a Yellow Jacket, posting a .281 batting average, and hitting nine home runs and driving in 25 runs. She has helped Tech to a 44-13 overall record, and No. 15 in the latest RPI rankings.

Senior Sarah Wood was recognized as the top scholar for the softball team. Wood, a left-handed pitcher from Marietta, Ga., has won her last four decisions in the circle and is 8-1 on the season, with a 3.01 earned run average.

The Jackets will take on in-state rival Georgia State on Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Bob Heck Field in Panthersville, Ga.
