Hickey Falls in Singles Final at FSU Invite

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Noelle Hickey, a freshman on Georgia Tech’s women’s tennis team, advanced to the finals of the Garnet Singles Draw at the 2007 FSU Invitational, but couldn’t get past Florida State’s Katie Rybakova, falling 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the championship match.

Hickey defeated Kansas’ Kunigunda Dorn, 6-1, 6-0, in her opening round match and notched a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Florida International’s Liset Brito to advance to Sunday’s final against Florida State’s Rybakova.

The Yellow Jacket freshman finished her first fall campaign with a 7-3 record in singles play, including a 3-1 mark vs. ranked opponents.
