Hello, My Name is ... Jacob Joiner

Dec. 18, 2014

THE FLATS – A consensus top 50 player in his class and top 100 in all classes, Jacob Joiner ranked No. 39 nationally in the class of 2014 and No. 73 among all classes in the Junior Golf Scoreboard when he enrolled at Georgia Tech.

Joiner made an immediate impact in the fall, with a T53 finish at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, a T25 at the U.S. Collegiate Championship and a T17 at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational (first career top-20 finish). He scored progressively better each round, finishing with a 65 at the Makai Invitational for a 209 total, and finished the fall with a 72.22 stroke average over nine rounds.

One of four Tech players to make the field for the U.S. Amateur at the Atlanta Athletic Club last summer, Joiner was a second-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2012, and his younger brother, Tyler, has signed to play for the Yellow Jackets beginning next fall.
