Oct. 9, 2009

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Guillermo Gomez dropped a straight-set match to Neal Skupski of LSU Thursday night and was eliminated in the first round of the D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa.

The Tech junior from Alicante, Spain, the tournament’s fifth seed, fell 6-3, 6-4 for his first loss of the fall season.

Tennis’ top men’s collegiate players are competing in the event with many of the top seeds also featured atop the Campbell/ITA preseason singles and doubles rankings, which were released in early September.

The rest of Tech’s team is competing in the Bulldog Scramble beginning Friday in Athens, Ga.
