Gomez Advances in ITA All-American Consolation Draw

Tulsa, Okla. – Georgia Tech’s Guillermo Gomez won a pair of straight-set matches Friday in the consolation draw at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships, and will play a quarterfinal match Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

Gomez, a junior from Alicante, Spain, defeated Lee Singer of Virginia, 6-4, 6-3, Friday morning, then came back to defeat Clint Bowles of Florida State, 7-6 (3), 7-5. He will meet Bruno Rosa of Rice Saturday morning.

Seeded fifth in the main draw, Gomez lost in the first round to Neal Skupski of LSU on Thursday.
