Thank you for your interest in joining the Goldrush Dance Team!

Being a part of Goldrush offers many exciting opportunities, but it is also a major commitment that requires an extraordinary work ethic. Goldrush competes annually at the UDA Collegiate National Championship in Orlando, Florida. Competing in Division 1A Jazz, Hip Hop, and Gameday categories, the program combines technical skill, showmanship, and athleticism. Being a member of the Goldrush dance team requires an intense commitment of around 20 hours per week and runs from July to May. See below for a high-level breakdown of our season.

Goldrush Dance Team Requirements

Fall Commitment

Practices 3-4x per week
Home Football Games
Home Men’s Basketball Games + Women’s Basketball Games
Nationals Practices (Winter Break)
UDA Collegiate National Championship (January)
Bowl Game Travel – if applicable (January)

Spring Commitment

Practices 2-3x per week
Home Men’s Basketball Games + Women’s Basketball Games
Basketball Tournament Travel (Spring Break)

Requirements for All Clinics

Attire Anything that makes you comfortable! (half top, spanx, leggings, tight bottoms, etc.). Please feel free to bring sweatpants and additional items for the hip-hop session.
Seniors in High School & Current College Students: Any colored top and/or bottom (blue, white, bright color tank top or sports bra)
All Other Participants: All black attire (top & bottom)
Please do not wear any red clothing 😊
Shoes Jazz Shoes/turners and sneakers of your choice.
Hair/Make-up Slicked-Back Bun/Ponytail and light dance makeup.
Nutrition Water bottle and snacks as needed.

August Recruitment Clinic

Sessions featuring Jazz & Hip-Hop master classes with guest choreographers
College Prep Conditioning & Technique
Information Session with Undergraduate Admissions & Georgia Tech Campus Tour
Note: All registrants must be in 7th grade or higher to attend.

Admissions Session, Campus Tour & Georgia Tech Football Game (Sideline Access)
Check-In Time: 8:30 am
Check-in Location: Zelnak Basketball Center
Address: 965 Fowler Street NW Atlanta, GA 30313
Parking: The closest available parking is off 8th Street.
Goldrush will be outside helping to direct you to the building.

Goldrush Dance/Georgia Tech Twirler Clinic Sun. Sept. 20^th

Taught by the current Georgia Tech Feature Twirlers – Madison Anderson, Elena Tovar, and Blakeney Sewell. A chance to learn firsthand from the current Golden Girls!

Open to middle and high school students (Must be at least 11 years old at the time of the clinic).
Check-In Time: 8:30 a.m.
Check-in Location: Zelnak Basketball Center
Address: 965 Fowler Street NW Atlanta, GA 30313
Parking: The closest available parking is off 8th Street.
Exact schedule will be shared closer to the event (Clinic runs from 9 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m.).

Audition Requirements

What to Expect

Auditions begin with a review of the required choreography, including Hip Hop, Jazz, and our traditional Fight Song.
Participants will also learn a new sideline routine during the morning session.

Please prepare 2–4 eight-counts of a technical improv combination highlighting:

Your strongest technical skills
Any show-stopping tricks you wish to showcase

What to Bring to In-Person Auditions

Headshot: Clear 5×7+ photo (does not need to be professional), hair down, GT attire or colors
Goldrush Application
Personal Letter: Why you want to join the Goldrush Dance Team and how you’d be an asset to the team
Letter of Acceptance: (Freshman only) or waitlist/transfer documentation
Copy of Insurance Card

Audition Appearance

All participants must adhere to the following guidelines for in-person auditions:

Attire: Black sports bra & black Spanx-style shorts
Shoes: Jazz shoes, turners, and sneakers (your choice)
Hair: Curled low ponytail
Makeup: Gameday-ready (full face with lashes)
Earrings: Performance-style earrings
