Georgia Tech Women's Basketball Tips Off 2006-07 Season Wednesday

Oct. 26, 2006

Atlanta – The Georgia Tech women will play their first game of the much anticipated 2006-07 season Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they welcome South Carolina Upstate to the Alexander Memorial Coliseum for an exhibition.

The Yellow Jackets return four starters and nine letterwinners from last season including some of the top players in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Junior Janie Mitchell finished the season as one of the top five rebounders in the league with 6.6 RPG while fellow junior Chioma Nnamaka ranked in the top ten in the league in scoring with 12.4 PPG, which was the highest on the team.

With an exciting non-conference schedule that includes Georgia, Northwestern and Vanderbilt and their challenging ACC schedule, the Tech women look forward to an exciting season and a spot among the conference elite.

Season tickets and single-game tickets can be purchased online at www.ramblinwreck.com, at the Georgia Tech ticket office or by calling the ticket office at 404-894-5447.
