BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) – Ra’Sean Dickey and Jeremis Smith scored 19 points apiece and Georgia Tech jumped to a big halftime lead, then held on to beat Centenary 85-69 Tuesday night.
The Yellow Jackets (9-4) opened with a 12-0 run and led 52-35 at halftime, but committed eight turnovers in the first nine minutes of the second half. Centenary (2-12) rallied to cut the deficit to 67-61 with 7:34 remaining.
Smith, who also had 10 rebounds, then scored five straight points, including a slam dunk, and Anthony Morrow hit a 3-pointer with 5:50 left as the Yellow Jackets made an 8-0 run. The victory was Tech’s first on the road this season.
Chris Watson led the Gentlemen with 18 points, and Xavier Burnette added 16.
