THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech softball team (22-26) begins a four-game home stand Wednesday when it hosts the Kennesaw State Owls (30-17) in a midweek matchup at Mewborn Field. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets (22-26, 7-8 ACC) are returning home from a 1-2 weekend in Chapel Hill, where they split a doubleheader with the Tar Heels of No. 25 North Carolina on Saturday and dropped a back-and-forth battle to them Sunday.

Ashley Thomas leads the squad with a .432 batting average on the season and paces the team with four triples and 31 stolen bases. Hope Rush is tops in home runs (14), RBI (46), and slugging percentage (.677).

In the circle, Rush owns a team-best 3.95 ERA to go with a 12-13 record. She has started 22 games and has gone the distance in 15 of them.

Kennesaw State
The Owls are 30-17 and coming off a series sweep of Jacksonville this weekend. The series finale 4-3 win was powered by a pair of home runs by Angie Dascoli. Sharon Swanson leads KSU with a .354 batting average, nine home runs, 51 hits, 30 RBI and a .583 slugging percentage.

Amanda Henderson is the main threat in the circle carrying a 17-4 record and 1.81 ERA into Wednesday’s matchup. Opposing hitters are only hitting .199 on her and have struck out 182 times through more than 150 innings pitched.

Series History 
The game will stand as the 18th meeting between the two schools and the second of two this season. Tech won the first 17-3 in five innings, when Ashley Thomas scored three times on a 3-for-5 day at the plate and Rush recorded four RBI and a home run.

The Jackets lead the all-time series 12-5 and is 12-2 against the Owls under head coach Sharon Perkins.
