Georgia Tech Hosts ACC Men's Swimming Championship

Feb. 24, 2015

THE FLATS – A week after hosting the women’s championship, Georgia Tech’s Aquatic Center is the site for the 2015 ACC Men’s Swimming Championship.

The four-day championship will be held Feb. 25-28 and will be the second of two conference championships held on the Georgia Tech campus. Last week’s ACC Women’s Championship featured both men’s and women’s diving events as well. This week’s ACC Men’s Championship will be swimming only, but last week’s men’s diving results count towards team scoring.

Due to inclement weather expected in the Atlanta metro area, Wednesday’s schedule of events will begin at 3 p.m. with the 200 medley relay, followed by the 800 free relay at 4 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. The Campus Recreation Center will close at 5 p.m.

ESPN3 will broadcast the finals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Live results will be available throughout the day at RamblinWreck.com.

Led by senior All-American Andrew Kosic and senior Nico van Duijn, the Yellow Jackets look to improve on their seventh-place finish from last year’s championship. The men’s swim team posted a 10-4 record in the regular season, including a 3-2 mark in ACC competition and 5-2 at home. Seventeen Jackets swimmers will compete at the ACC Championship.

Men’s diver Brad Homza secured valuable points for the Jackets during last week’s diving competition, placing seventh overall on the 3m springboard.
