ATLANTA (AP) – Iman Shumpert scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in Georgia Tech’s 78-51 victory over Albany on Wednesday night.
Mfon Udofia and Daniel Miller each added 10 points for Georgia Tech, which was coming off a humiliating blowout loss at nearby Kennesaw State two days ago.
The Yellow Jackets (2-1) took their biggest lead at 34 on Shumpert’s layup early in the second half. They committed 10 turnovers to Albany’s 25 and scored 32 points off Great Dane miscues.
Tim Ambrose scored 16 points to lead Albany (0-3).
Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt kept his starting lineup intact for the third straight game, but sophomore guard Glen Rice Jr. played only 11 minutes and was 0 of 3 from the field, going scoreless for the first time since a loss at Virginia last Jan. 13.
