On summer break – working as an umpire
I get to go behind home plate. I have been doing it since I was in eleventh grade. It is so much fun, getting to be out there with kids. I also have a chance to get acclimated to the weather; it’s a good thing to do during the summer while working out.
On getting ready to hit people
I am ready! It is the best time of the year. It is time to get two-a-days started, get back to football. I am ready to go.
On getting ready for opener against Notre Dame
Getting to play Notre Dame on ABC, it really gets you going. If it doesn’t, I do not know what will. That is big time football and that is what we came here to play.
On Patrick Nix (Offensive Coordinator) calling plays on offense
It is pretty cool. Coach Nix knows everyone on the team. He really knows everyone’s personality and what they can do with the ball and what they can do period. He has been there with Coach Gailey calling the plays at practice.
