THE FLATS – Georgia Tech and Colorado will play each other in 2025 and 2026 as part of a home-and-home series between the schools.
The first series meeting will take place Aug. 30, 2025, at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo., with the return trip to Atlanta on Sept. 5, 2026.
While the two schools have never met on the gridiron, they share a significant piece of college football history. Georgia Tech and Colorado were both named 1990 National Champions – the Yellow Jackets by the UPI Coaches Poll and the Buffaloes by the AP.
Current Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre is a 1989 graduate of Georgia Tech, earning a bachelor’s degree in business manager. He played defensive back for the Yellow Jackets in 1988 and 1989. Additionally, current Georgia Tech President G.P. “Bud” Peterson was Colorado’s Chancellor from 2006-2009 before heading up the Institute.
Georgia Tech’s Spring Football Game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. kick April 23 on ESPN3. The Yellow Jackets will open the 2016 season Sept. 3 against Boston College in Dublin, Ireland, as part of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic (7:30 a.m. ET, ESPN2).
