Georgia Tech Baseball Pays Tribute To Michael Hutts

April 12, 2008

Georgia Tech and the Yellow Jacket baseball team paid tribute to teammate Michael Hutts prior to Saturday’s first game against No. 1-ranked Miami at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Hutts, a junior pitcher from Dunwoody, Ga., died Friday in Atlanta.

A number 40, Hutts’ jersey number, was painted on the field near the third-base line. His number was also put on every Yellow Jacket players’ cap.

Prior to the game against the Hurricanes — the first of two games against Miami on Saturday — everyone in attendance paid tribute with a moment of silence. Every fan entering the stadium was provided with a yellow ribbon in Hutts’ honor.
