Four Homers Blast Tech to 12-6 Win Over GSU

PANTHERSVILLE, Ga. – Powered by a team home run cycle, Georgia Tech softball (23-16, 5-7 ACC) completed the 2019 sweep of Georgia State (5-31) with a 12-6 win on Wednesday night. The Jackets won the first meeting earlier this season 8-3.

To get things going for the Jackets in the top of the first, sophomoreΒ Tricia Awald doubles to center field, plating seniorΒ Katie Krzus to put Tech up 1-0.

 

JuniorΒ Crosby Huckabay sends out a two-run homer, scoring Awald to bring the score to 5-1.

 

With two outs and the score tied at 5-5 in the top of the seventh, sophomoreΒ Skye Webb hits her second grand slam of the season to put Tech back on top 9-5.

Up next:
Tech heads to Ames, Iowa for a nonconference series with Iowa State. The three-game series kicks off with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 6.
