Five Jackets Make GCAA All-Region Golf Team

Norman, Okla. – The entire starting lineup which competed for Georgia Tech in winning the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in April and in the NCAA Southwest Regional has been named to the PING All-East Region team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.

A total of 155 players across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West – earned all-region honors for 2012.

Tech is represented on the East Region team by graduating senior James White, sophomores Bo Andrews and Richard Werenski and freshmen Anders Albertson and Ollie Schniederjans. They captured the Yellow Jackets’ fourth ACC title in as many years, earned a berth in the NCAA Championship for the 15th consecutive year and lifted Tech to a top-10 national ranking.

All five Tech players are ranked among the nation’s top 130 players in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index – White (23), Albertson (31), Andrews (99), Werenski (121) and Schniederjans (130). White, Albertson and Andrews made the All-ACC team.
