Finkler Garners ACC Scholar-Athlete Award

ATLANTA – Senior Ofer Finkler was honored with the Atlantic Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, announced at the annual Yellow Jacket Celebration on Monday evening. Finkler, a native of Rishon Le-Zion, Israel, was also named as top scholar for Georgia Tech men’s swimming and diving.

An outstanding swimmer and a remarkable student, Finkler is a member of several school-record relay teams and holds top five times in school history in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events. In addition to a 3.95 grade point average in electrical engineering, he works as a teaching assistant and research assistant.

An Academic All-ACC honoree and an honorable mention Academic All-America, he was awarded an Atlantic Coast Conference Postgraduate Scholarship and he plans to pursue a master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering.
