Box Score (.pdf)

THE FLATS – No. 12 Georgia Tech baseball poured on five runs in the top of the fourth, but three errors ultimately led to seven runs (only four earned) for NC State and Tech fell 8-6 on Friday night at Doak Field.

The Yellow Jackets (16-7, 4-3 ACC) jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks largely to a four-hit, three-RBI night from Andrew Jenkins that featured two doubles and a home run. Tres Gonzalez and Jack Rubenstein also drove in runs. Also finishing with two hits on the night was Kevin Parada and Colin Hall.

On the mound, starter RHP Chance Huff started strong, allowing just a solo home run through three before surrendering three hits and two walks in the critical fourth inning. RHP Aeden Finateri (0-1) pitched three innings in relief, surrendering only three hits for two unearned runs, striking out five. RHP Zach Maxwell then dealt two no-hit innings to close, punching out five himself to just one walk.

The Wolfpack (13-8, 2-4 ACC) was led by Devonte Brown, who finished 3-for-5 with three RBI off a double and home run. Starter RHP Sam Highfill only made it 4.0 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits before RHP Logan Adams (2-0) pitched 3.0 innings of three-hit ball to get the win. LHP Chris Villaman got the save.

The Yellow Jackets will look to even the series against NC State on Saturday, March 26. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and will be nationally broadcast on ACC Network.
