ATLANTA – Eight members of the men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams at Georgia Tech were named to the 2011-2012 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, which was announced by Commissioner John Swofford.

The men had six selections, led by Brandon Makinson – a three-time honoree. Makinson was joined on the men’s All-ACC Academic Team by freshman Andrew Kosic (chemical & biomedical engineering), sophomore Anton Lagerqvist (industrial engineering), freshman Elliott Brockelbank (international affairs), junior Eric Chiu (industrial design), and freshman Nico van Duijn (electrical engineering).

For the women, senior Keren Siebner (industrial engineering) and senior Jordan Evans (management) represented the Yellow Jackets.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.
