DeMichelis, Kenny and Roebuck Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Volleyball’s Chrissy DeMichelis and men’s tennis members Doug Kenny and Austin Roebuck have been named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, Nov. 10, 2008.

DeMichelis, a junior from Aurora, Colo., had 37 kills while averaging 3.70 kills per set to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 1-1 record on the weekend. She pounded out 19 kills in a thrilling five-set win over Wake Forest on Friday. She then followed that up with an 18 kill, three block performance against Duke on Saturday. DeMichelis has 180 kills and 34 blocks in 18 matches played on the season.

Kenny, a sophomore from Roswell, Ga., went undefeated while grabbing four singles wins at the Bulldog Scramble in Athens, Ga. The sophomore from Roswell, Ga., came back from a set down in two of the four wins on the weekend. He moves his overall singles record to 7-2 on the fall season. Like teammate Doug Kenny, Roebuck posted a perfect 4-0 singles record at the Bulldog Scramble in Athens, Ga. The Athens, Ga. native, won every match in straight-sets, while taking down three players from South Carolina. Roebuck is now 5-3 in singles play on the fall season.
