May 12, 2016

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball senior Courtney Ziese was named to the All-ACC second team as voted on by the ACC’s 11 head coaches, the league announced Thursday. It marks the first All-ACC honor for Ziese, and the 15th consecutive year the Jackets have had at least one All-ACC selection.

Ziese started all but one game (54 games started), mostly at the designated hitter position (39 games). She led the team in average (.307), hits (50), home runs (11) and RBI (33), while slugging .552 on the season.

Her 11 home runs and 50 hits are season-bests, and she matched her season-best with 33 RBI. Against ACC opponents, she hit .313 with 13 runs on 25 hits and seven homers, slugging .625.
