INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Georgia Tech sophomore swimmer Rodrigo Quadros Correia recorded a new personal best time in the 200 IM prelims on Thursday morning at the 2017 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
Swimming at his first NCAA Championships, the co-captain turned in a new personal best time of 1:45.66 in the 200 IM prelims to place in a tie for 34th-place overall. The mark tops his previous record of 1:46.19 and is the second-best time in Tech history.
Correia will return to the pool to compete in the 100 back on Friday, Mar. 24.
Fellow Jacket Moises Loschi will swim in either the 400 IM or 100 breast tomorrow, while co-captain Ben Southern is slated to participate in the 100 fly on Friday.
