Sanford, a four-year starter from 1975-78, was an all-American linebacker at Georgia Tech and is considered one of the top defenders in Ramblin’ Wreck history. He earned first-team all-America honors in 1977 by the AFCA and The Sporting News, as well as second-team accolades from the Associated Press and United Press International.
