CLEMSON, S.C. – Sophomore Evan Stowers swept the men’s one- (312.45) and three-meter (305.93) springboards to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams at Clemson University on Saturday. The Tigers swept the Yellow Jackets, 135-103 (women) and 133-100 (men).
Senior Laurissa Prystaj won the women’s three-meter board with a score of 267.98 and finished second on the one-meter board with a tally of 260.48 points.
Senior Meghan DeVinney clocked a time of 2:11.38 to finish first in the women’s 200-yard butterfly. Freshman Mari McLeod posted a first-place finish for the Jackets in the women’s 100 freestyle with a time of 53.52.
Junior Natanya Harper tallied a pair of top-three finishes for Tech. Harper touched the wall in 24.38 in the women’s 50 free to finish second and finished third in the 100 free with a time of 53.85.
Senior Sam Morgan swam a time of 9:35.59 in the men’s 1000 free to finish second. Sophomore Peter Doblar tallied a pair of second-place finishes for Tech on the springboards with scores of 262.95 (1-M) and 251.40 (3-M).
Redshirt freshman Chris Ewald tallied a runner-up finish in the men’s 500 free with a time of 4:41.07, while senior Ashley Kracke registered a second-place finish in the women’s 200 back with a time of 2:07.33
Rounding out top finishers for the Yellow Jackets was senior Liz Foster and freshman Caroline Jones. Foster clocked a time of 2:11.38 in the women’s 200 individual medley to finish second, while Jones finished second in the women’s 200 free with a time of 1:53.03.
The Yellow Jackets will host Emory on Senior Day in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center on Jan. 28. The dual meet is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
