PROHIBITED ITEMS
For the safety and security of everyone at Georgia Tech Athletic facilities and events, the following items are NOT allowed into the facility and can vary by event:
- Beverages
- Food
- Alcoholic beverages
- Tobacco (including vape, smokeless and e-cigarettes)
- Aerosol cans / sprays
- Cans
- Coolers or ice chests
- Thermos/metal bottles
- TVs
- Ice bags
- Bags that are not compliant with Clear Bag Policy (see below for prohibited bags)
- Horns or other noisemakers (bells, whistles, etc.)
- Laser pointers
- Video cameras
- Selfie sticks
- Cameras with lenses longer than 4″
- Sticks or flag poles
- Flags or banners larger than 11″ x 17″
- Pets/Therapy animals
- Weapons, including those carried with a permit
- Fireworks or other explosives
- Illegal drugs
- Strollers
- Personal transportation devices (skateboards, hover boards, scooters, etc.)
- Inflated balls of any type
- Stadium seats larger than 16″ wide (chair-backs/seat-backs/seat cushions) with arms and/or pockets
- Large umbrellas/golf umbrellas/or any umbrella with a pointed end are prohibited (small personal-sized umbrellas are permitted inside McCamish Pavilion and O’Keefe Gymnasium)
- Electric/battery-powered blankets
- Personal heaters
- Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by security or game management
- Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s)
Prohibited Bags:
- Backpacks of any type
- Printed pattern plastic bag
- Fanny pack
- Purse
- Grocery bag
- Duffel bag
- Large tote bag
- Camera case
- Computer bag
- Binoculars case
- Cinch backpack
- Colored plastic storage bag
- Any other bags deemed non-compliant by security or game management
PERMITTED ITEMS
The following items ARE PERMITTED to be brought inside Georgia Tech Athletic facilities:
- Game Tickets
- Clear reusable water bottles (must be emptied at the gates)
- Service Animals
- Sunscreen lotion
- Binoculars
- Banners, signs & flags without sticks or poles (no larger than 11″ x 17″)
- Blankets (non-electric/non battery-powered)
- Stadium Seats smaller than 16″ wide (chair-backs/seat-backs/seat cushions) without arms, pockets, compartments, and/or cover
- Medical Assistance Devices
- Breast Pumps & Supplies
- Baby food (with child in arms)
- Bags that are compliant with Clear Bag Policy (see above)
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate by respective gate supervisor.
Costume Policy
All costumes must be compliant with Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech Athletic Association policies, procedures, and code of conduct. All costumes that do not meet this standard (to be determined by the athletic association event management/security staff) will not be allowed into Georgia Tech Athletic facilities.
Any issues that result from and/or related to costumes/student conduct while inside Georgia Tech Athletic facilities will be handled in accordance with standard student conduct protocol. All other issues will be handled in partnership with the Georgia Tech police department.
Please see below for more specific rules on costumes guidelines:
- No props will be allowed into Georgia Tech Athletic facilities.
- All individuals must wear shoes that are compliant with standard policy.
- Masks are not allowed to be worn through the gates (all individuals must remove masks prior to entering lines at stadium gates and cannot put them back on until after they have passed through the entire entry process).
- Costumes that take up more than one standard seat will not be allowed into the stadium.
- All costumes that include large wigs, coats, compartments, etc. will be subject to search
- Costumes/parts of costumes that could be considered weapons (helmets, metal spikes, etc.) will not be allowed into the stadium.
- Costumes may not contain vulgar/offensive language or depict offensive acts/individuals/ideologies.
- All costumes must be tasteful and comply with standard Georgia Institute of Technology & Georgia Tech Athletic Association policies.
***Admittance into Georgia Tech Athletic facilities/decisions on all costumes will be at the discretion of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association and Georgia Tech Police Department.***
