Chopra, Martin Compete In Truist Atlanta Open

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Keshav Chopra and Andres Martin dropped a first round match against a pair of veterans in the 2021 Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv on Monday afternoon in Atlantic Station. The Yellow Jacket pair received wild card entries into the main draw doubles.

Chopra and Martin faced the veteran doubles team of Marcelo Arevalo (ESA) and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela (MEX) on the first day of main draw action. After dropping the first set, 6-1, Chopra and Martin challenged Arevalo and Reyes-Varela in the second set. Trailing 5-3, the Yellow Jackets fought off a pair match points to close back within 5-4, but could not hold on, dropping the second set, 6-4.

The Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv is held each year in July in Atlantic Station and is one of the summer tournaments in the US Open Series. The tournament features men’s top world tennis players in singles and doubles competition. Former Yellow Jackets Christopher Eubanks, Juan Spir and Kevin King have all participated in past Atlanta Opens.
