Castro, Higgs Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Roberto Castro and Stephanie Higgs earned Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week honors for Monday, February 12, 2007.

Castro, a senior from Alpharetta, Ga., shot an 11-under-par 199 over 54 holes and tied for second at the UH-Hilo Invitational. He helped the team to a 22-under fourth-place finish. Castro matched his career-low score for 54 holes at the tournament. Castro logged his second straight top-10 finish and matched his highest finish as a collegian.

Higgs, a senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., led the team in scoring with 25 points on Sunday to help Tech defeat NC State 69-62, ending their five-game win streak. Her 25-point display marks the sixth time this season Higgs has scored more than 20 points in a game. She also scored in double-figures in loses to Virginia Tech and Florida State.
