AUBURN, Ala. – Georgia Tech had three divers in Matt Casillas, Omar Eteiba and Carly Doi compete on day one of the 2017 NCAA Zone B Championships on Monday at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.
In the men’s 1-meter dive, Matt Casillas finished the preliminary with a score of 284.45 to advance to the finals. The sophomore finished the event with a total score of 598.95 to place 13th overall.
The Jackets’ Eteiba recorded a score of 27.00 in the prelims of the 1-meter dive to miss out on the finals by a mere 4.50 points, while in the 3-meter women’s diving event Tech freshman Carly Doi totaled a score of 240.60.
The zone championships will continue tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. CT. Below is the schedule for day two on Tuesday.
Tuesday, March 7
11am-1:45pm CT – Women’s 1-meter prelims
2-3pm – Women’s 1-meter finals
4-6pm – Men’s 3-meter prelims
6:15-7:15pm – Men’s 3-meter finals
