BCA Classic Set for Aug. 27 at 8 p.m.

ATLANTA (Feb. 18) – Georgia Tech has been selected to meet Virginia Tech in the fourth annual Black Coaches Association Classic game at 8 p.m. Aug. 27 in Blacksburg, Va., adding a 12th game to the Yellow Jackets’ 2000 schedule. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Georgia Tech’s appearance in the game was announced Wednesday, and the date and time were announced Thursday by ESPN and the Gazelle Group, which is promoting the event.

The Hokies, the 1999 national championship runner-up, will host the game at Lane Stadium. The BCA Classic will kick off the 2000 college football season and will be televised on ESPN2 and feature the nation’s two highest scoring teams from last season. The teams have met only once before, a 6-3 Georgia Tech win in 1990 at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field.
