SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Georgia Tech track and field sophomore Avery Bartlett finished 27th in the first round of the men’s 800m at the USATF 2017 Outdoor Championships on Thursday night.
Bartlett capped off am impressive sophomore campaign with a 27th-place finish in the 800m, racing a time of 1:49.01. He did not advance to the semifinals.
During the 2016-17 season, Bartlett earned all-ACC honors in the indoor 800m, outdoor 800m and outdoor 1500m. At the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., Bartlett brought home second team all-American honors with a 15th-place finish in the 800m. He set the Georgia Tech record for the 800m at the ACC Indoor Championships with a time of 1:47.32.
Freshman Tyson Spears will compete in the junior men’s 100m at 1:35 p.m. PT on Friday, June 23.
