DURHAM, N.C. – Georgia Tech baseball’s Joey Bart was named to the 2017 Collegiate National Team Training Camp roster, USA Baseball announced today.

The Buford, Ga. native is one of just 20 training camp players that will join 14 previously identified athletes in a five-game series with teams in the Coastal Plain League and the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League before the 24-man roster is announced on Monday, June 26.

Bart, who recently was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Atlantic all-region second team as a catcher, was also an all-ACC second team selection and Johnny Bench Award Semifinalist this past season.

Bart led the team with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs on the year despite missing the last 11 games of the season due to an injury. In addition to the home runs and RBIs, the sophomore hit .296 with 55 total hits, 13 doubles and 36 runs. He also posted a team-best .575 slugging percentage and threw out 10 would-be base stealers.

The Collegiate National Team is made up of non-draft eligible athletes currently playing baseball at the collegiate level. USA Baseball will also name a 28-man roster to compete in a series against Chinese Taipei before its final 24-man roster will compete in international friendship series against Cuba and Japan.

USA Baseball will stream all five games of the Chinese Taipei and Cuba series in North Carolina on USABaseball.com. For more information on the Collegiate National Team, follow on Twitter at @USABaseballCNT .
