THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis player Andres Martin received a wild card to the Atlanta Open on Tuesday. A ceremony was held with tournament director Eddie Gonzalez where Martin received his wild card bid.
Martin will play on July 26 in the singles main draw against an ATP Tour Pro. He is now the third Yellow Jacket to earn a wild card to the Atlanta Open. Current assistant coach and former pro Kevin King was the first to do so followed by current No. 156 ranked player Chris Eubanks.
July 26 is the Atlanta Open’s college night which is designed to showcase that college tennis as a pathway to the professional ranks.
The Atlanta Open will be held at Atlantic Station from July 23-31.
