A-T Fund Year-End Givng

December is a popular time for donations, as it is the final chance to earn 2021 tax year deductions. Philanthropic support through the Alexander-Tharpe Fund provides Georgia Tech student-athletes with the resources and tools to achieve athletic, academic and personal success. Please consider the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in your giving plans during this holiday season.

The 2021 calendar year has been full of successful performances by Georgia Tech student-athletes – athletically, academically and in the community. Most notably in the athletic realm, men’s basketball won the ACC Championship for the first time since 1993 and eight programs finished in the top 25 nationally, including NCAA Sweet 16 appearances for women’s basketball and women’s tennis, a 15th-place national finish for golf and volleyball making not one, but two, NCAA Tournament runs – one in the spring and another in the fall. December alone has seen women’s basketball earn a monumental win over No. 3 UConn, volleyball earn the No. 8 national seed in the NCAA Tournament and advance all the way to the Elite Eight and football land a recruiting class that included the second-highest concentration of four-star prospects in the history of the program.

Off the field, Tech earned two of the college athletics’ most prestigious awards for academics (the N4A Model Practices Award) and community service (the NACDA/Fiesta Bowl Community Service Award). Individually, women’s track and field student-athlete Bria Matthews won the Wooden Citizenship Cup, women’s tennis’ Victoria Flores won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Ann Lebedeff Leadership Award and men’s basketball associate head coach Eric Reveno won the National Association of Basketball Coaches Guardians of the Game Award.

The continued support of A-T Fund donors is critical to maintaining and building on the success of 2021. A-T Fund priorities for the remainder of the 2022 fiscal year include the Athletic Scholarship Fund, Athletics Director’s Initiative, scholarship endowments and program endowments.
