CANCUN, MEXICO – Georgia Tech improved to 4-1 on the season after capturing a 70-55 victory over George Washington on Thanksgiving Day to open the Cancun Challenge. Elizabeth Balogun finished with a game-high 19 points to lead the Jackets offensively.
“I was happy we got to play nine people double minutes,” commented head coach MaChelle Joseph. “I thought we got some good play off our bench with 16 points. In particular, I thought Chanin Scott was great on the defensive end with six steals. I really thought this was one of Elizabeth Balogun’s best all-around games, scoring and making plays off steals and deflections. But overall, I thought it was a good team win.”
