Schniederjans Closes With 67, Ties for 6th at The Dogwood

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Ollie Schniederjans shot a 5-under-par 67 Saturday and finished in a tie for sixth place, six shots off the lead, at the Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club.

Rising Tech junior Richard Werenski finished with a 1-under 71 and tied for 11th place, and sophomore Anders Albertson carded a 73 and tied for 27th. Meanwhile, 2000 Tech graduate Carlton Forrester shot even-par 72 Saturday to tie for eighth place.

Ben Kohles of Virginia finished a hot weekend with a 67 Saturday and captured the tournament championship by two shots over Michael Kim and Bruce Woodall, the 54-hole leader. Kohles shot an opening 70, then went 69-65-67 to finish at 17-under-par 271. Kim shot a closing 68, and Woodall a 71 Saturday to tie for second at 273 (-15). Bobby Wyatt (68) was fourth at 274, followed by M.J. Maguire (73), the first-round leader, at 276.

Schniederjans, a sophomore from Powder Springs, Ga., completed 72 holes at 11-under 277, while Forrester posted a 9-under-par 279. Werenski had a 6-under 282 tournament total. Albertson finished at 1-under 287.
